Executive Team

Matt Hanrahan
Chief Executive Officer
Matt Hanrahan is a highly accomplished healthcare executive and is currently the CEO of Healthe Care. Healthe Care is a private hospital organisation, which operates across 17 sites in New South Wales, Victoria, and Tasmania.
Before joining Healthe Care, Matt served as the Deputy National Chief Executive Officer at Calvary Health Care. Throughout his career, Matt has held several senior management positions in various healthcare organisations, both in the public and private sectors.
Notably, Matt has served as the Chief Executive of Central Coast Local Health District (NSW Health), overseeing the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to the local community. In addition, he also served as the CEO of General Practice NSW.
Matt’s education achievements also reflect his commitment to excellence in health care management. Matt holds a Master’s in Health Administration and a Bachelor of Applied Science. Furthermore, Matt is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Doug Meagher
Chief Financial Officer
Doug Meagher has over 25 years of experience in ASX listed companies and professional service entities. Doug brings strong technical financial knowledge and operational experience that has contributed to the strategic and commercial performance of his prior companies.
Doug joins us from the private hospital sector, having most recently served as CFO at Ramsay Healthcare (Australia) for over 8 years. During his time there, he was responsible for Finance, Procurement, and Linear Medical (a medical consumables supplier) across 72 hospitals, 60 retail pharmacies, 40 hospital dispensaries, 11 psychology clinics and 20 allied health clinics.
Prior to his role at Ramsay Healthcare, Doug held divisional CFO and senior executive positions at Qantas Airways Limited (in Group Finance), Jetstar Freight Enterprises, and Strategy and Development. Additionally, he also served as a senior manager at Ernst & Young.

Karen Gallagher
Regional Chief Executive Officer - Northern NSW
Karen Gallagher has extensive experience in the healthcare sector, having spent over 25 years in a range of management roles including Health Information Management, Quality, Operational and Commercial Management. Karen also held the positions of Chief Executive Officer Lingard Private Hospital, and Healthe Care Group roles including Deputy Chief Operating Officer – Surgical, Executive Manager Northern NSW, New Zealand, Health Information and Quality, and most recently Head of Commercial Operations.
Karen is particularly passionate about Commercial, Operational and Strategic Management, Quality Program Development, and Corporate and Clinical Governance. She has also overseen many service developments and building projects within healthcare facilities.
Karen has a Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Human Resource Management) and is currently completing a Master of Business Administration.

Stephen Johnston
Regional Chief Executive Officer - NSW Central Coast
Stephen is an established healthcare industry leader with a well-earned reputation for his extensive experience in delivering and leading business growth in the healthcare sector internationally across the private sectors, including private equity and not-for-profits. He has held senior management positions in various Australian Healthcare organisations over the past 20 years.
Following a successful clinical career; Stephen entered management in Ramsay Healthcare at Westmead Private in Sydney moving then to the Director of Perioperative & Critical Care position at The Sydney Adventist Hospital. Before joining Healthe Care he worked as the COO of Evolution Healthcare managing, and successfully circumnavigating the transition into New Zealand private healthcare market growing the activity across nine health care facilities with over 1200 staff.
Stephen has a very warm, pragmatic and open leadership style. He has had broad experience in driving outcomes and growth within complex stakeholder environments during his twenty-seven years in healthcare.

Anchal Chitkara
Head of Health Fund Relations & Revenue
Anchal Chitkara has over 18 years of executive and senior leadership experience in healthcare organisations and professional services. Anchal brings a strong strategy, operational and commercial background, which has supported healthcare funding and implementation of strategic initiatives in private health across Australia.
Anchal joins Healthe Care from the private health sector. He was the senior executive at Medibank overseeing hospital, specialist and ancillary networks, and most recently Amplar Health’s (Medibank health subsidiary) primary care investments. During his time, Anchal oversaw over $3b in benefits paid to providers and led the rollout of new health care models.
Prior to his role at Medibank, Anchal worked in strategy consulting at Accenture and Deloitte. He holds degrees in Engineering and Commerce, an Executive MBA from Melbourne Business School and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Bernie Lyons
Head of Risk and Compliance
Bernie Lyons has been the Head of Risk and Compliance for Healthe Care since 2021. A highly experienced Clinician and Executive Manager, Bernie was previously the National Risk and Compliance Manager for Healthe Care and the Aurora Health Group. She has an extensive background in Nursing and Patient Safety, having been a Director of Nursing and Patient Safety Manager in private hospitals on the NSW Central Coast.

Warren Kulpa
Chief Information Officer
Warren Kulpa is an accomplished Chief Information Officer, having previously held the role of Chief Technology Officer with Healthe Care and guiding the organisation through a company-wide Digital Transformation.
Prior to joining Healthe Care in 2021, Warren held various positions at Peninsula Health, including as Director of IT Infrastructure. He was also a MIS Developer with Computershare and Data Administrator at HIH Insurance.

George Diakos
Head of Human Resources
George Diakos joined Healthe Care as the Head of Human Resources in 2021. Having completed a Bachelor of Arts (Communications) and a Masters of Strategic Human Resources Management from the University of Wollongong, he has spent significant periods in both HR and Operational Leadership roles across the Retail, Disability Services and Healthcare sectors.
George is passionate about building strong organisational culture and capability, while working with leadership teams to develop and embed best practice approaches to people operations. His combination of commercial acumen and a person-centred approach, ensure the successful delivery of strategic organisational outcomes, with people at their core.

Haydn Murray
Head of Marketing and Communications
Haydn Murray joined Healthe Care in 2017, having previously worked as a Marketing and Communications executive across the private, not for profit and education sectors. He is passionate about implementing innovative, people-friendly marketing programs, that put the needs of patients and staff first.
Haydn has a Masters of Business (Marketing Management), Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Physical Education, and a Graduate Diploma in Health and Human Services Leadership.
